The Chicago area's heavy rain and flooding have affected travel on some routes to Loyola University Health System sites.
Visitors to Loyola University Medical Center’s main campus, Gottlieb Memorial Hospital and other Loyola sites should check road conditions. Several media outlets are updating road closures online, including CBS Chicago/WBBM.
On Friday afternoon, the Cook County Sheriff’s Office said roads were closed at the following locations:
Bellwood: Most east/west streets were not passable
Forest Park: East- and westbound Roosevelt Road between First Ave. and Des Plaines
Melrose Park: North Ave. from 25th Ave. to Hawthorne St.
25th Ave. between Lake St. and Division St.
Division St. between 34th Ave. and 37th Ave.
Riverside: Southbound Des Plaines at 31st St.
Forest Ave. bridge between First Ave. and Kimbark Road
West Ave. between Forest Ave. and Pine Ave.
Lincoln Ave. between Forest Ave. and Park Place
Groveland Ave. between Forest Ave. and Park Place
Westchester: Roosevelt Road between 25th Ave. and Mannheim Road
Northbound Mannheim Road between Cermak Road and Roosevelt Road
Southbound Mannheim Road between Harrison St. and Cermak Road
Wolf Road between Harrison St. and Cermak Rd.
Southbound Westchester Blvd. between Roosevelt Road and Canterbury St.
Northbound Westchester Blvd. between Roosevelt Road and 1-290
Balmoral Ave. between Mannheim Road and Roosevelt Road
